Paul Jay is a journalist, award-winning filmmaker, and founder and senior editor of The Real News Network, an independent, fact-based, online news and current affairs network. In 2013 under Paul’s leadership The Real News relocated its headquarters to Baltimore and created the Baltimore Bureau, and in 2016 the organization created a dedicated Climate Crisis Bureau. Paul has overseen the production of over 7,000 news stories and is the host of The Real News’ analysis programming. Previously, he was executive producer of CBC Newsworld’s independent flagship debate show CounterSpin for its 10 years. Born and raised in Toronto, Paul was also founding chair of the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival.
