Police Officer Pedro Serrano has worked for 15 years on patrol, including in the South Bronx and Manhattan North. He is one of the NYPD12, a group of minority officers who sued New York City and the department in 2016 over the use of discriminatory arrest quotas. He also testified in Floyd v. City of New York, a federal class action suit that successfully challenged the department's unconstitutional use of “stop and frisk” tactics. He appeared in the award-winning documentary, "Crime + Punishment," chronicling the lives and struggles of a group of Black and Latinx whistleblower cops and the young people they are pressured to arrest and summons in New York City.
