Riva Enteen was raised as a socialist and has been an activist since the 1960s. As a student at Hastings College of the Law, she became active in the National Lawyers Guild, then worked as its Program Director for 12 years. She was the first chair of KPFA's local station board and led the successful efforts to bring Sovietologist Bill Mandel back to the KPFA airwaves. Riva raised two children in San Francisco, where they used to think every crowd was a demonstration.
